Description

The foam is closed cell military grade polyethylene that will last decades to come, and is form fitted to fit the Synology DiskStation DS1819+ along with 10 extra hard drives. The Case has wheels and and an extension handle for easy transportation. It has a strong shell that can handle large weights without compromising strength. The o-ring seal gives it a waterproof characteristic. A Purge valve allows air to enter the case, but not water which makes opening it in high altitudes easy. Padlockable holes reinforced with stainless steel are setup for padlocks to keep the contents secure.

    In short, the case will indeed hold both the 2.5" and 3.5" hard drives. The longer explanation is that the foam pockets are actually sized to hold Synology's "Hard Drive Trays" which themselves can contain either 2.5" or 3.5" hard drives.

    This case is 100% shippable. We have not done extensive testing to determine if the device can hold the drives while in transit, but we do have experience with them outside the device and in the foam cutouts. If you can put them in the foam, the it will guarantee a safe journey. Otherwise inside the device will be uncharted territory.
